LINKS - a brief list of some of the more useful birding related websites (in my opinion)
Trip Reports

Birding Around the World with Jon as has come to be expected from my friend, Jon Hornbuckle, a very high quality website with loads of very useful information. Is there anywhere he hasn't been? Check out Jon's curriculum vitae!

John's birding trip reports is maintained by John van der Woude of the Netherlands. His site has a lot in common with this one except that he specialises in the Neotropics. It's a great page with lots of useful info on birding and travelling in Central and South America as well as parts of Europe.

Worldtwitch maintained by Jon Wall, one of my favourite sites with an extensive searchable database covering just about anywhere you can think of.

Bird Trip Reports used to be the best source of trip reports from anywhere on the Web, but new reports are no longer accepted

Birdwatching Trip Reports excellent collection with "over 400 reports from more than 100 countries"

Mailing Lists:

OrientalBirding a great source for anything to do with birding in Asia

Birding Aus a must if you want to check out the latest gossip and info in Australian birding

Birding Pages:

Oriental Bird Club the home page of my favourite birding organisation

common_fatbirder_logo.gif (25573 bytes) The Fatbirder one of the best sites for birders on the web. In Bo's words "Fatbirder is striving to be the world's greatest resource for birders it has more than 1,400 pages covering every country of the world, every US, Canadian & Australian State & Province and every UK County as well as all aspects of birding - ornithology, birdwatching as a hobby, conservation, where to buy optics, holidays etc.; where to stay and much much more."
Where do you want to go birding today? I wish I'd thought of this! One of the most useful birding pages on the web.

Taxonomic Changes really interesting stuff keeping track of the latest taxonomic changes and work

Tony Palliser's Pelagic Page Tony's excellent page documents in detail the results of pelagics over the years, some excellent photos of rarities and a link to BARC (rarities committee)

Broadbill - Birdwatcher's Site have a look at Koji Tagi's page for useful info on Japan, Australia and Malaysia. There are also some great photos taken by Koji of the birds of various countires. If you are planning a trip to Japan, this is a particularly useful site. (in English & Japanese)

Steve Clarke's Birding in South West Victoria very useful and in-depth info for anyone travelling in this area of my home state, including lots of handy mud maps.
